Parish Council response to planning application 2022/42439 – New Agricultural Building at New House Farm

The following response has been sent to WBC regarding the above planning application:

The Parish Council are not opposed in general terms to the Application.

In view of the proposed residential development on land previously in the same ownership at New House Farm Hatton Lane Hatton, the Parish Council request the Borough Council to impose certain conditions to any permission granted. It will be appreciated that acting on behalf of the majority of Hatton residents the Parish Council together with Warrington Borough Council unsuccessfully opposed the demolition of the existing farm buildings to create a site for 31 new dwellings which was granted on Appeal. The reason residents opposed this was because of the schemes impact on the Green Belt, the lack of transport facilities and the scale of the development. In order to be consistent with the general principle of objection by residents to that development the Parish Council requests that the following type of conditions are imposed:

  1. That the proposed Agricultural building shall only be used for the purposes of storing produce and farm machinery etc. directly related to the residual farmland at New House Farm so that it does not become used for general storage possibly from users outside Hatton.
  2. That at no time in the future will it be permitted to remove the Agricultural Unit so that further residential development can take place.

Response to Hynet re the proposed Hydrogen pipeline through Hatton

For information, the following is a copy of the email sent to Hynet by the Parish Council:

This is the response of Hatton Parish Council to your Consultation on the proposed hydrogen pipeline which passes through Hatton Village.

Note: We have taken the opportunity of consulting most Hatton residents prior to submitting this response.

In general terms we have no objection to the principle of the proposed pipeline however we should be pleased if you would take note of the following points:

  1. With regard to any Environmental Statement, we are content to let the appropriate officers at Warrington Borough Council provide their expert local input however should you need or wish to consult us directly on any issue specific to Hatton please contact one of the undersigned.
  2. We are concerned that any construction work may have an impact on statutory or other utilities which serve properties in Hatton. In the past the Village has suffered power cuts on a regular basis bearing in mind there are overhead power lines. Also, there are a number of water courses in the area of the Village which if interfered with can cause flooding. In particular there is a water course which serves the village centre and then runs alongside Warrington Rd. to the “water splash” on Park Rd. Walton. This has caused particular problems in the past if it has become blocked in any way.
  3. With regard to any future works which affect the main access routes in the village we would be grateful for reasonable advance notice so that we can notify residents. You will find that we are a good channel of communication with residents.

Please acknowledge receipt of this email.

Kind regards,

HATTON FAMILY FUN DAY

The Village had a great day! Loads of games including Richard’s new “Splat the Rat” which was hilarious to watch! Not many splatted it!!

The village raised over £1700 with the help of the Bonus Ball Competition which donated £500 of its annual charity pot towards the nominated charity this year which was St Rocco’s Hospice.

Thanks to everyone who donated, bought, baked, volunteered, and everything else that goes in to making a successful community event. Thanks to the Hatton Arms and their staff for letting us use their lovely garden and their raffle prize too and obviously Rowswood Timber for their continued sponsorship. Harold won their wonderful bench.
