Diary

There’s a great deal of news to follow on some lovely HATTON events.  We hope you can all enjoy them.

Forthcoming events for 2020 are obviously in limbo at the moment due to the COVID-19 situation but will be posted when the situation has stabilised. Any villagers who would like to join the Community and Social Activities group would be most welcome.

Monthly events include the Hatton Village Film Club which usually meets the 1st Monday of each month at the Hatton Pub and Grill. Residents of Hatton and their friends and family are welcome to come along and enjoy the film FREE OF CHARGE.

The Residents’ Lunch generally takes place on the 2nd Tuesday of each month. For the current month’s lunch details check below or watch out for your monthly copy of the Hatton Life newsletter coming through your door. To book your place at the lunches please contact Robin Brocklehurst on 01925 730030 or email robinbrocklehurst@hotmail.com by the Saturday evening before the lunch so that he can give ‘The Hatton’ reasonable notice.

 Monday 11th January 2016 7.30pm

Hatton Film Club, showing Lad: A Yorkshire Story

It tells the story of a teenager called Tom Proctor who comes to terms with his father’s death through the kindness and quiet mentoring he gets from a national park ranger. The latter, whose fictional name is Al Thorpe, was inspired by a real-life ranger, the late Al Boughen, who played a similar role in Hartley’s life, when the film-maker was a teenager in Austwick, that lovely village below Ingleborough and the Norber Erratics.

If it sounds a bit twee, bear in mind that our hero gets community service at one stage for stealing a tractor and spraying manure all over the local bank.

Great scenery.
